 3. When will we know what team our daughter is on?
Your coach should have a roster by the third week in March and should be contacting you via phone and/or email with an introduction and tentative practice schedule.

 4. When will we know when and where practices are held?
Practices start at the beginning of April. Your daughter's coach should circulate schedules for pre-season practices. Also, any in-season practices will be scheduled by the coaches.

 5. How long is the season?
The season typically opens at the beginning of April.  There are usually 2-3 games per week. We make every effort to avoid any scheduling on Mothers Day or through the Memorial Day weekend. The season usually ends the second week of June.

6. What happens on Opening Day?
Opening Day is also Picture Day. Teams are scheduled for picture times. There is a parade of teams to one of the fields where there are speeches, introductions and the throwing out of the first pitch. Games for most leagues will also be scheduled. There's usually food, fun, and Rock merchandise on sale. Some activities we have had included clowns, face painting, moon bounce, pony rides, giveaways and more.

7. My daughter is now playing in the "Inter-township" league (Junior Pitch and above).  What does this mean?
Beginning in Junior Pitch, players will sometimes travel to other communities for games. It is an enriching experience for the girls and greatly boosts their skills by playing in a larger pool.  More home games (at Helen Randle) than away games are scheduled by the Inter-township league, but the players may have away games scheduled in: Northampton, Southampton, Upper Makefield, New Hope/Solebury or Warminster.

8. What happens at the end of the season?
Rock Softball hosts an End-of-Season Bash after the last games of the season with Food and treats for everyone. Pictures and trophies are distributed.  Coaches turn in their equipment on this night.

9. My daughter has good skills. Can she "play up?"
Players can "play up" if requested and approved by the Intramural Director but are not permitted to "play down." It is preferred that players play with their age group or try out for one of the Rock travel teams.

10. What equipment does the Rock program provide?
Each player receives a uniform consisting of: 2 Numbered T-shirts (one white & one Navy), a pair of navy softball pants, a pair of socks and a belt.
Each coach is also provided an equipment bag that contains: bats, batting helmets, catchers equipment, Tee and balls for games and practices as well as a medial kit.

11. What equipment should I purchase?
Each athlete should purchase a pair of rubber modeled cleats and is required to have a glove (please put your name on your glove).
Some under armor type shirts are recommended as it can be chilly early in the spring season.
For un-seasonably cold days, athletes are allowed to ware a jacket and or sweatshirt during games.
Optional items for personal purchase: defensive facemask, batting helmet with face mask, bat and water bottle.
